LAVA STONE - ORIGAMI

Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, Paola Lenti has designed Origami by using untreated and oxidised lava stone and cutting and blending these pieces back together to represent a geometric pattern reminiscent of folds and creases. The application of a special oxidising process results in the stone looking different from one tile to another, expressing the natural colours and qualities of the varying treated and untreated pieces. 

Origami’s pattern is produced by using a module which is divided into two trapezoids, the resulting installation , a visual junction of colour, tone and form.
